Tendance Floue

THE FRENCH photo-collective Tendance Floue was formed in 1996. In the spirit of Magnum, five professional photo-journalists pooled their existing photographs to form an archive which provided a commercial income to make artistic projects possible. Five years later, they hand-picked other photo-journalists to join them and create a bureau. The late philosopher and sociologist Jean Baudrillard was their mentor, often providing text to accompany the images.
