Sony has jumped into the competition of DSLRs with the introduction of the Sony Alpha 700. This is a big step up from the Alpha 100, thus making them a true contender in the DSLR field.
The A700 makes SONY a true contender in the DSLR field

THE A700 has a host of new features that stands up to the big players in the field and boasts a 12.2 MP CMOS sensor along with a host of other nice features.

New additions include an infrared remote release, an all aluminium body, and protective gaskets for all controls and openings. The A700 is rated for 100,000 cycles on its shutters. Sony also made available many lenses for their DSLR line.
