Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1
The World’s Fastest Burst Digital Camera?

by KEN BROWNE

At this year’s CES show, Casio announced its Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1. This six megapixel camera with a 12x zoom claims some very impressive burst shooting capabilities of up to 60 frames per second at full resolution, and up to 1,200 fps if you decide to drop the image size down to 336 x 96.
The camera can record high speed movie footage of motion faster than the human eye and play it back in ultra slow motion

THE CAMERA is capable of shooting full HD movies at 60 fps in 1920 x 1080. The EXILIM Pro EX-F1 has a new high speed CMOS and a high speed LSI processor which Casio claims as the world’s fastest burst digital camera to date. It is possible, while using flash, to take up to 20 continuous shots at a speed of up to 7 frames per second; so even in low light, this means no more missed shots. The camera also detects faces automatically and adjusts for optimum focus and brightness.

The EXILIM Pro EX-F1 can record high speed movie footage of motion faster than the human eye and play it back in ultra slow motion. Operators can select a recording speed of 300 fps, 600 fps or 1,200 fps. There is also a Movie Button that quickly starts movie recording without first having to switch from the still image mode. This camera is lightning fast both for capturing still images and for filming. The camera can be connected to an HD compatible television with an HDMI cable (supplied separately). Set for release in March 2008 - the world’s fastest burst digital camera?
