OLYMPUS E-520
Significant Improvement

by JULIA SONK

The new E-520 camera from Olympus has inherited most of the top features (Image Stabilisation and Supersonic Silent Wave Filter among them) from its predecessor E-500, but this new edition has been significantly improved.

FIRSTLY, the LCD monitor has been enlarged to 2.7" – good news when you need to be able to see just that extra detail on the screen. Secondly, Face Detection element helps to achieve better results in-group photography.

The Live View Capacity - which enables seeing the image fed to the screen in a real-time stream - has also been enhanced. As with the previous models, Olympus True Pic III processor is used here for fast processing of images that - if using a continuous frame mode – can be shot at 3.5 fps.

Blur is indeed optional with this camera - one of the main advantages is the in-built Image Stabiliser busting any blur in favour of sharpness!
