The Press Photographer’s Year

The Getty Images photographer, Daniel Berehulak’s photo of Benazir Bhutto has won him not one, but two prizes.

'The photo was taken just two days after the former Pakistan president had returned from exile and not long before she was assassinated.'

AFTER BEING awarded The World Press Photo Award, he’s also won one of The Press Photographer’s Year prizes. Berehulak’s work, together with other winning entries, is currently exhibited at the foyer of the National Theatre in London.

The enigmatic photo of Bhutto catches her adjusting a scarf during a small-scale press conference. It was taken just two days after the former Pakistan president had returned from exile and not long before she was assassinated.
