A series of seascapes titled On the Beach by Richard Misrach is on at the Washington’s National Gallery of Art.

MISRACH’s figures on the beach with the backdrop of the ocean emphasise the small scale of humans who become almost an ornament. A publication accompanying the exhibition was published by Aperture.
On the Beach will tour to Henry Art Gallery, Seattle (November - February 09) and High Museum of Art in Atlanta (May - August 2009).
